These appointments are reserved for the KU Adidas Leadership Scholars program.

All writers benefit from invested readers who provide feedback, ask questions, serve as sounding boards, and offer motivation and encouragement throughout the writing process. The KU Writing Center provides individual consultations with trained peer consultants who will coach and guide you as you write. You can make appointments for consultations at any stage of the writing process--when you haven't yet started writing, are trying to polish a final draft, or are somewhere in between. We ask that you make the suggested revisions before scheduling another appointment time. We do not offer line-by-line corrections. Consultants are educators, not editors.

While walk-ins can't be scheduled in advance, they do offer more flexibility to help fit into your busy schedule. Walk-ins might last approximately 15, 30, or 40 minutes, and are available on a first come, first served basis.

KU Adidas Leadership Scholars Writing Consultations are held in the Academic Resource Center in Ellsworth, room 209:

  • Sunday: 1:00-3:00 PM & 7:00-9:00 PM
  • Monday-Thursday (see schedule): 7:00-9:00 PM

These appointments are held at our Edwards Campus location in Overland Park (Regents Center, Room 119).

Repeat Appointments: We want to support you as a writer, and many other KU students are just like you. If you have an ongoing project you're working on, we suggest that you make future appointments with the same consultant after you have discussed your project and made revisions. You may make appointments seven days in advance. Keep in mind that others also need appointments.

Late Arrivals: You must arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late to your appointment, your appointment will be treated as a no-show and may be given to a client waiting for a walk-in appointment.

These appointments are reserved for undergraduate students at our Watson Library (3rd floor) location.

Undergrad appointments last approximately 40 minutes, and begin promptly at the time listed on the schedule.

Additional undergrad appointments are available in the morning and afternoon at Anschutz Library. Choose "Undergraduate Students: Anschutz" from the drop-down list of locations to see these appointments.
